Aylan Yoga School Uluwatu – What is Tantra Yoga?
Many people think of Tantra Yoga as the “yoga of sex,” but this is only part of the story. In fact, it is a profound spiritual practice that involves channeling energy toward healing and experiences of ecstasy. It also involves cultivating both male and female sexual energy and transmuting it so that it can fuel meditation and yogic union.
What really distinguishes tantra from other yogic approaches is its holistic perspective. Tantra sees all energies of Nature, and even the physical body, as equal to Shiva (Spirit or Consciousness). This is a radical shift from the classical point of view that divides life into spiritual vs. the mundane. In this broader view, the entire universe becomes a launching pad for spiritual evolution.
Introduction to Tantra Yoga at Aylan Yoga School Uluwatu
It is true that the Tantra practices can be dangerous, especially if they are not properly guided by a qualified teacher. However, this is no more true than of any other yogic practice.
Nancy Goodfellow began her yogic journey in the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition, and she continues to develop a strong, dedicated self-practice. She then discovered Tantra yoga and became deeply devoted to this integrative path. She has taught all over the world, and she is passionate about sharing the deep knowledge and wisdom that this ancient lineage carries. She believes that yoga is a powerful way to connect with one’s true essence and the divine forces that emanate around us. In her classes, she aims to guide her students to this awakening.
